Installation of Alabama Gamma

The chapter was installed on February 2, 1957. The ceremony took place in the new Pi Phi chapter room in Boyd Hall. At the installation banquet, Alabama Gamma Jan Bishop received a trophy for Best Scholarship and Alabama Gamma Nancy Lou Avara was chosen as best New Member.

Living at Alabama Gamma

Alabama Gamma’s first residence was in the Quad which is in the heart of Auburn’s beautiful campus. The Quad is still being used for housing for University students. In the mid 1980’s, the chapter room relocated to the Hill area of campus where new dorms and chapter rooms were built. This area provided more space for the Greek system as it continued to grow. Finally, the chapter moved from the Hill to the Village in 2009. The Village is a beautiful, sprawling space with apartment style rooms for its’ residents and gorgeous chapter rooms that houses all 17, soon to be 18, women’s fraternities and sororities.
