Installation of California Xi
The chapter was installed on May 2, 2015. Installation activities were held on campus at the University of San Diego. Activities began on Friday with the installation ceremony followed by the preparatory ceremony, which was then followed by a giant Cookie Shine. Alumnae, friends and family all attended the Cookie Shine. The next day, Initiation began and each woman was initiated by Grand President Paula Pace Shepherd. Following the Initiation ceremony, a celebratory dinner was held. The Resident Leadership Development Consultant Amara Bell Fanucci spoke, as well as the Grand President. Even Past Grand President Sarah Ruth “Sis” Mullis, South Carolina Alpha, was in attendance! The weekend concluded with the first mock chapter meeting on Sunday.
Living at California Xi
At the University of San Diego, the fraternity and sorority communities do not live in houses, but that doesn’t impact the sisterhood California Xi shares! Weekly chapter meetings are held on or around campus. California Xi occupies a storage unit which is maintained and operated by Pi Beta Phi Headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, and the Fraternity Housing Corporation (FHC).
Panhellenic Groups on Campus

Philanthropic Service
The chapter’s main philanthropy event is a stand-up Comedy show called Laughing for Literacy, and 100 percent of the money made from ticket sales are donated to charity.
