Installation at Louisiana Beta
A local group, Pi Beta, was formed in 1935 after Pi Phi alumnae were permitted to participate in recruitment, under the direction of California Delta Marjorie Baird (Rusteberg). A charter was granted at the 1936 Edgewater Convention and the chapter was installed on October 17, 1936. The Initiation Ceremony took place at Highland Hall on campus. The installation banquet was held in the dining room of La Maison Française, the old French chateau on campus and was hosted by Ruth Ward, who recently transferred to the school from Wyoming and later affiliated with the new chapter.
