Installation of New Mexico Alpha
A local group, Pi Beta Phi, was formed in 1945. The group officially became a chapter of Pi Beta Phi on September 11, 1946. The chapter was established through the influence of the Albuquerque, New Mexico, Alumnae Club, which had been working toward a chapter since its own founding in 1927. The Initiation Ceremony took place at the Y.W.C.A. The installation banquet was held in the Coronado Room of the Alvarado Hotel. The banquet theme was “Flight on the Arrow-Line,” featuring blue programs printed with silver airplanes and a centerpiece of a model airplane surrounded by bouquets of wine and blue flowers.
