Installation at Pennsylvania Iota

The chapter was installed on February 6, 1993. The Initiation Ceremony took place on a snow day at the Tabernacle United Church, during which the heat broke. A Cookie Shine followed the Preparatory Ceremony. “Sheets were placed on the floor in a U-shape with setting made for each pledge. The place settings included a Cookie Shine bag, arrow cookie, program, Seven Gifts ceremony card and a special package of notes tied with ribbon, given by the Gamma Collegiate Province. The notes all contained special messages from women in the province. Angels made of chocolate kisses and popcorn arrows as well as various designs and messages spelled out in red hots, licorice, apples and chocolate candy decorated the Cookie Shine sheet. Once all the pledges entered the room, all in attendance sang the Cookie Shine song.” The installation ceremony took place at the Tabernacle United Church “and though it wasn't the most opportune time for the heat to break down on that snowy day, it was a beautiful initiation.”

The installation banquet was hosted by the Philadelphia Main Line Alumnae Club at the University City Sheraton. The theme was “Proud Traditions Unite: Pi Beta Phi and Penn.” South Carolina Alpha Sarah Ruth "Sis" Mullis presided as toastmistress.

The charter was relinquished in 2000.
