The History of the Southlake Area, Texas, Alumnae Club

The Southlake Area, Texas, Alumnae Club was chartered in the fall of 2002. Since that time the club has been extremely active, spreading the Pi Phi Spirit wherever it goes. Community involvement, both as a club and as individual alumnae, is comprehensive and heartfelt. Notable events include the Annual Pink Party and Cookie Shine, the Annual Founders’ Day held in conjunction with Texas Epsilon, the Annual Christmas Angel Gift Exchange and the Bi-Annual Christmas Tea.

Philanthropic Service

  • Champions Are Readers® (CAR) Literacy Initiative with Morningside Elementary in Ft. Worth, Texas - individual members read with and mentor children on a weekly basis at Morningside Elementary and other schools
  • Alumnae Advisory Committee sponsors, plans, and runs an annual Reading Carnival at Morningside Elementary
  • Make It, Bake It, Fake It Auction, an annual fundraiser that funds all of the club’s philanthropic efforts: Foundation and Pi Beta Phi National donations, local literacy initiatives, Texas Epsilon Scholarships, Texas Epsilon Recruitment Luncheon, New Member gifts, snack tubs to chapters for Recruitment Chapter Support, donations to other collegiate chapters
  • Annual Christmas Greenery Sale Fundraiser to support the club’s philanthropic efforts
  • Special donation sections are included on the club’s annual dues forms, supporting Texas Epsilon scholarships and Pi Beta Phi Philanthropies
  • Regular donations to the Community Storehouse in Keller, Texas
  • Donations to various women’s facilities
